The short answer
Standard door-to-door delivery ends at the entrance of the property. If you need an item carried to a particular room, add Room of Choice, which prices the extra time and carry. Drivers do not assemble, install, plumb in or wall-mount anything.
Why is door-to-door the default rather than into the room?
Because carrying an item inside a property takes real time and involves real risk, and both vary enormously between addresses. A ground-floor hallway and a third-floor flat with a turning staircase are not the same job.
Pricing that time into every booking would mean people with easy access subsidise those without. Making it an explicit option keeps the base price honest and lets you buy the carry only when you need it.
What should you tell us so the carry actually works?
The floor, whether there is a lift and its size, the width of the narrowest doorway on the route, and how far the vehicle can park from the entrance. Also say which room, so the driver can plan the approach.
Clear the route before the van arrives. Shoes, bins, door mats and doors that swing shut all cost time, and time on a fixed-price booking is best spent moving your item.
What will a driver never do?
Remove doors, windows or bannisters to force an item through, work in a way that is unsafe for them or your property, or take an item up a route where it clearly will not fit.
They also will not assemble flat-pack, dismantle beds, connect appliances or mount televisions. If you need those, book a fitter separately and have the item delivered first.
