PORTR gives you one clear booking total that includes the route and services you selected. Nothing is added on the day for anything you told us about when you booked.
Indicative local prices
These figures come from the same pricing engine that produces your quote, based on a short local journey with ground-floor access, one driver and delivery within two days. Your own price depends on your postcodes, items, access and timing.

Flexible booking — 30% less than the same-day price
Pick a collection date at least 7 days after booking. We collect on your chosen date and deliver within the following 7 days. For your selected route, items and handling, Flexible costs exactly 70% of the matching same-day quote. There is no further Pay in Full discount on this option.
That fixed saving may take a long journey below the ordinary £1-per-mile transport floor. Your actual total appears before checkout.
Access and extra help, clearly priced
Ground floor has no floor fee. Each non-ground floor is priced separately at collection and delivery according to the carry needed at that end and whether your items fit in a usable lift. These are PORTR’s fees, not quoted rival tariffs.

For example, door-to-room uses address-door access rates at collection and in-room rates at delivery. Room-to-door reverses those. Stairs at both addresses are priced in your complete booking total before payment.
A driver is included. A customer-selected second person has a £39 base fee for one or two light items, or £65 for a larger load. Any timing adjustment is shown in the live quote; nobody is added automatically.
What your price is made of
The vehicle
Your item list is converted into cubic metres and matched to the smallest van that can carry it safely. A bigger van costs more because it costs more to run.
The distance
A mileage allowance is included in the base fare. Ordinary jobs over 50 miles have a £1-per-mile transport floor; Flexible's fixed 30% saving is the exception. We use routed mileage where available or a postcode estimate.
Handling time
Every item in our catalogue carries a realistic handling time. Ten boxes take longer than one wardrobe, and the price reflects that rather than guessing.
Access at both ends
A second-floor flat without a lift genuinely takes longer than a ground-floor house. You tell us up front, so it is priced up front.
Crew size
You choose one or two people. Heavy or awkward items show a safety reminder; we never automatically add a second person to your price.
Timing
Your collection date, notice period and chosen slot affect the quote. Choose same-day, next-day, Anytime, within 2 days or Flexible. Flexible collection starts from day 7 and delivery follows within 7 days; a fixed two-hour slot is priced for the route, load, time and urgency.
Pay 50% now, the rest after delivery
A 50% deposit is taken by card when you book, which confirms your vehicle and time window. The balance is charged automatically to your saved card once your delivery is complete, with your clear authorisation at checkout. Nothing is taken before the job is done.
Or pay in full by card
Prefer to settle it in one go? Pay by card at booking and save up to 2% on eligible ordinary bookings. Flexible already has its fixed 30% saving, so no extra discount is added. The ordinary long-route floor can limit other discounts. Your exact total is shown before payment.
