How PORTR transport is planned
PORTR moves items between two addresses, from single pieces of furniture to full van loads. Tell us what is moving, the route, access at each address and the service level you want so we can plan the right vehicle and crew.
For moves involving a room’s contents, large items or a flat’s belongings, pack and prepare your items before collection, then use the booking notes to share anything the driver needs to know.
Prepare items for collection
Our drivers focus on careful transport. Have flat-pack furniture, beds, appliances and other items ready to load before collection, with any disassembly completed in advance.
Please have items ready to load. If something must come apart to clear a doorway, do that before collection or tell us in the notes so the driver can plan the route through the property.
Items that need advance confirmation
For safety and planning, PORTR does not carry hazardous or flammable materials, illegal items, live animals, cash, jewellery or documents of high intrinsic value. Perishable food is not suitable for a long journey.
Pianos, safes, hot tubs and similar items are possible but never automatic. Describe them when booking and we will confirm handling before accepting the job, because sending the wrong vehicle wastes your day and ours.
Prepare marketplace collections
On a marketplace collection, arrange payment directly with the seller and confirm the item’s condition before collection. Your driver then collects the item presented at the agreed address.
Settle with the seller yourself and satisfy yourself about condition before the collection, or arrange to be present.
